📘 Introduction:

The department is concerned with teaching and training student nurses for the delivery of health services to children through preventive, promotive, restorative and rehabilitative services. The purpose of this department is to prepare the students to identify the normal growth and development; needs/problems of children of various age groups and deviations from normal; recognise the basic concepts, principles and techniques of child care and the role of family in child caring. The department functions effectively under the guidance and supervision of experienced faculty, a well-equipped laboratory and the best clinical exposure facilities. Considering each child and family as a unit of society, the department follows quality and continuous improvement in the field of education, research, thereby ensuring continuous professional growth.

🎯 Vision:

The vision of the child health nursing department is to develop an understanding of the modern concept of child care, utilise the latest trends in caring for children and train the students to provide high-technology nursing care to children from neonates to adolescents.

🎯 Mission:

🎯 Objectives:

  • • To identify the difference between adult and child in care, approach and treatment
  • • To provide care for children with special consideration to growth, development and maturity
  • • To analyse the importance of the prevention of illness and the remedial measures towards the same
