Disciplinary Committee
The Disciplinary Committee of Dr. R. N. Lahoti College of Nursing ensures compliance with the Code of Discipline and Conduct for students and suggests suitable actions in case of violations.
Functions of the Disciplinary Committee:
- To frame the rules and regulations of the committee.
- To make students aware of the discipline.
- To ensure students follow the disciplinary rules.
- If any indiscipline is found, the student is warned on the first instance. Disciplinary action is taken if indiscipline behavior is repeated.
Functions of the Appellate Panel:
- To hear appeals filed by individuals aggrieved by the decisions of the Disciplinary Committee.
- To dispose of the appeal in the manner it deems fit, within thirty days of receipt.
Quorum:
The quorum shall be 2/3rd of the total members.
Frequency of Meetings:
The committee meets once every three months.
Policies & Procedures of the Committee:
Policies:
- Complaints must be received in written form or via email to the committee.
- The complaint proceeds through the class coordinator/mentor/grievance redressal committee.
- A meeting of the Disciplinary Committee is called within two weeks of receiving any complaint.
- If indiscipline is found, the student is warned, followed by action if the behavior repeats.
- The student may be suspended during investigations.
- The committee will review evidence and provide a written decision within 14 working days.
- Suspension will be posted on the student's record, but not on the academic transcript.
- The committee may expel a student if other means of correction fail or if the student poses a danger to others.
- Students have the right to appeal any decision made by the committee.
- The policy will be reviewed annually.
Standard Operating Procedure:
- Any indiscipline cases must be forwarded in written form to the committee.
- A meeting will be called within two weeks of the complaint.
- The committee will proceed with the case based on available evidence.
- Sanctions may include warnings, written warnings, suspension, or expulsion.
- Students have the right to appeal any decision.
